What is Happening in the gym???!!!!!

Presbyterian Day of Service 2017

So What???!!!!!!

4th and 5th Grade Students have completed cooperative group projects to design a Tabata routine.

The routine has been videoed and posted on the Sierra Vista Elementary School Website.

The Students received a grade which was determined by their cooperation as a group and individual, setting up the group to be videoed so all can be seen, putting their routine together, making sure that each member of the group can do the specific exercises correctly and coming up with adaptations/modifications to add extra challenge or if any student could not perform the skill make the skill easier and similar.

The videos display exercises that show cardiorespiratory and muscular strength fitness components. These are health related fitness components that are emphasized year round.

The videos will be used for warm ups during dance and gymnastics units.

The videos are also available to the classroom teacher who, when he/she determines a brain energizer, (need to get up and move to increase circulation to the brain and increase student mental focus) is needed can click on a link and play the video in their classroom.
